Ticket to Ride – Now available on Kindle Fire

The Ticket to Ride digital train keeps rolling along. Now the award-winning train game is available on Kindle Fire tablets from Amazon.

Ticket to Ride players on Kindle Fire will find plenty of online competition as they join the same online player community that hosts tens of thousands of live opponents who are ready to play Ticket to Ride anytime night or day.

Ticket to Ride on Kindle Fire includes:

  • SOLO and online game play on the classic Ticket to Ride USA map that made the original board game so compelling and popular
  • In-game purchasing for all of the previously released digital maps and variants, including Asia, Europe, Switzerland, and USA 1910
  • Four distinct AI personalities to compete against
  • Players on Android can challenge rail barons playing on other platforms including Steam PC and Mac, iPad, and on Days of Wonder’s online portal
  • Contextual in-game Conductor’s Notes to help you master all the maps
To celebrate this new release on the Kindle Fire, we’ve created some very special Ticket to Ride Character Score Markers – 8 new wooden score markers that match all the game’s train colors – and created in iconic shapes for the different Ticket to Ride characters. These are available for purchase directly via in-app purchase from Ticket to Ride on Kindle Fire, or from the Amazon.com store.
Ticket to Ride Kindle Fire Edition runs on the following devices: Kindle Fire (2nd Generation), Kindle Fire HD 7″ and Kindle Fire HD 8.9″, using Android version 4.0.3 or higher. Ticket to Ride on Kindle Fire is available for download from the Amazon Appstore today for $6.99 (US price). Join in the train game fun today at the Ticket to Ride Kindle Fire App page.

Any chance of a Windows 8 version? I want a touch version for my Windows tablet.

I’m really interested in those custom score markers. A free digital add-on might make the $10 price tag more palatable, however. (The option to add one of the Kindle Fire TTR expansions perhaps… even if just the 1910r expansion.)

This is great news for those of us that like computing platforms that don’t have the usability problems of Apple products. Thank you!

    • DetachedObserver says:

What are these usability issues with Apple products of which you speak?

  4. Aaron says:

Please start publishing games on the Windows platforms (Win8/RT and Windows Phone 8). Seems odd to ignore millions of potential users.

    • Jason Hurd says:

Since the Steam platform is compatible with Windows 8 and TtR is already available on Steam – in an extremely well-implemented and elegant version, mind you – I’m not sure a Windows-8-only version would be practical for them at this time. You can install Steam, purchase TtR via Steam, and then you can even have a very nice TtR tile on your Windows 8 desktop.

(Sorry… I was intending yo reply to a comment further up the line.)

        • Aaron says:

That’s true, I will look into the steam version. I hope as Windows Phone’s install base continues to grow and it will be considered as platform. I know I would buy it day 1 on my phone.

Will you be able to play against someone using the TTR pocket version for iphone?
