Memoir ’44 fan and elementary school teacher, Jesse Rasmussen has turned Memoir ’44 into an exciting learning experience for his students.
Jesse (rasmussen81), who is a contributor to the Memoir ’44 Campaign Book, created the Memoir ’44 History Club at Jewell Elementary School in Bend, Oregon. It meets twice a week after school and has students not only learning how to play Memoir ’44, but also about WWII history. What a great idea! I am in the process of organizing a community gaming organization and this would be a great way to build an interest in that organization. I am starting to work in the local elementary school as a volunteer and this is something that I will definitely take in with me. Thanks for the story!
I wish there were teachers in school like Rasmussen 81 when I was in grade school. I most likely would have liked school better than I did, gotten better grades too. Your students will know how WWII was and not how it is being rewritten today. They will also know more about it than most high school and collage students do today. Keep up the good work, we need more teachers like you.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I almost feel guilty because I have so much fun teaching the game and teaching them about World War II; plus I get to keep all the material over the summer months and play huge games with my friends!
