With the release of Small World Realms becoming imminent, it is time for us to dig into one of the most complex scenarios of this pack – A Dig Too Far. Here to shed some light on this new Underground Realm is Philippe Keyaerts, the designer of Small World.
Following our adventure to the East, let’s consider a slightly more complex scenario – The Crops of Power.
This 2-6 player scenario introduces a new rule that lets each player who ventures into these Realms use not 1, but 2 Special Powers! But let’s catch up with Philippe Keyaerts, the game designer of Small World again…
As we are putting the finishing touches on our latest Small World expansion, it seems to be the right time to discuss one of the most important aspects of the Realms: Its scenarios.
Twelve in total, there are enough to appeal to both expert masters of Small World and novice players alike. Thanks to the geomorphic nature of the Terrain tiles, each scenario can be customized for a varying number of players, with many of the scenarios scaling well up to 6 players!

First episode, starring Wil Wheaton as host, debuts today!
TableTop is a brand spanking new show that launched today on Google TV’s Geek & Sundry channel and it’s all about boardgames and being oh so nerdy. Naturally, they chose to feature Small World for their inaugural show. So, set phasers to geek.
Still some months away from the actual release of Small World Realms, speculations are ramping up… What wonders do these Realms hold in their midst? How do they look like, from above and underground? And how modular are they and the Regions that form them?
Small World Tunnels, the new free mini-expansion, is now available from game stores throughout North America and Europe. (Note: some stores may ask that you be a customer or make a purchase to qualify for the Tunnels expansion.) Tunnels connects the original Small World game board to Small World Underground so you can play in both worlds. Visit the Tunnels web page to learn more.
If there is no store near you, you can also order one directly from the Days of Wonder web store. The Tunnels expansion is free, but unless you also purchase another product you’ll have to pay a small shipping and handling fee. There’s a limit of only 1 free Tunnels expansion per customer.
