We just received new sets of Blue long sword banners for your Hyena riders. Note that these are the exact same banners that are already attached to the Blue Regular Cavalry units in your base game of BattleLore. You can either use those, or click here to get our customer service department to send you some new ones!

The Specialist cards with a matching back will take a bit longer to arrive. We are currently at the mercy of lengthy lead times at our printers, who are busy ramping up for Christmas. Current ETA for these sets of replacement cards is mid-November.

What we opted to do is reprint the 10 Specialist cards that came in with your Call to Arms expansion, and give them the same back that is featured on Deployment cards and on all current and future cards in Specialists packs.

Before someone jumps the gun and says this wasn’t the Designer’s intent, it actually was ! We unfortunately made the mistake of deciding to get fancy and give the Specialist cards a different illustration than the Deployment cards for no other reason that because it looked neat, and that decision came back to bite us

So we are reverting back to the original design. The benefit is that you do not have to worry about any of your Specialist sets not matching going forward; furthermore, if you are not bothered by the visual difference, this will then give you another set of these 10 cool generic Specialist cards to play with!

Please do not call or e-mail us individually regarding any of the above, as we will not be able to tell you more than what is written above until the cards arrive. As for the banners, clicking on the link given above is the best way to ensure you receive them promptly.

Last not least, with the 100 Years War and Goblin Marauders now shipping, we have added the adventures that came with them online. We have also included a new web adventure titled “Abandoned Tower”.

To our dismay, we’ve also discovered two embarrassing mistakes when unwrapping our own copies:

• The back of all the Specialist cards issued in these sets (and future sets, to be released in August) is not the one we intended it to be, resulting in a visual mismatch with the Specialist cards that came with Call to Arms. The Specialist cards in the Specialist sets incorrectly shows a back of card that is identical to the back of Deployment cards, rather than the intended back for Specialist cards
• And despite a visual inspection of the final prototypes before assembly, two of the banners in the upcoming Goblin Marauders set, incorrectly display a Blue mounted bow where they should have displayed Blue long sword banners instead, for use with the Hyena riders.

The first mistake is a purely visual and esthetic one, that does not affect gameplay, since you are supposed to choose the Specialist cards of your own liking when deploying new troops, rather than drawing them at random. We wish to apologize for it nonetheless…

The wrong and correct back of cards

The second mistake is more problematic. We have asked the manufacturer responsible for the error to airship us the correct replacement banners, which we will mail free of charge to anyone that requests them. In the meantime, you can simply use any of the Blue long sword banners that came with your base game, and attach these to your Hyena riders before deployment.

The silver lining in this is that it gives you 2 free Blue mounted bow banners - which we recommend you use with caution, if at all -. Ostrich riders should remain green bow units only!

We hope you will have fun with these new troops nonetheless, and ask for your understanding as we work to fix these issues.

The DoW War Council

They will be available in two waves : First The Goblin Skirmishers and the Dwarven Battalion are expected to hit our shores around July 16th. They should be followed by The Goblin Marauders and The Hundred Years’ War around August 15th.
