Winners of the 20 Millionth Online Game Giveaway!

We have our winners of our 20 Millionth Online Game Giveaway. ctsparrow of Pocatello, Idaho (US) played mitole ~ Wanadoo of France in a 2 player game of Ticket to Ride online (the US map) in the 20,000,000 Days of Wonder Online game. The game ended at 16:45 Paris time (8:45 in Idaho) on Wednesday, June 23. ctsparrow came out triumphant and has won a 16GB Wi-FI enabled Apple iPad plus a copy of the Small World for iPad game. mitole ~ Wanadoo wins a pretty nice consolation prize, an 8GB Apple iPod Touch.

Congratulations to both players and thanks to everyone who plays Days of Wonder Online games!

And the World Champion is…

After a very long day of intense gaming, the final just finished and Patrick Deckers is the first Ticket to Ride World Champion.

He wins a trip for two on the Orient-Express.

After 3 Qualifying Rounds, he defeated Pere Garriga Solé in the semi-finals and Ian Andrew Vincent in final.

The Ticket to Ride World Championship will take place on June 19 in the Musée de la Carte à Jouer in Issy-les-Moulineaux. The national champions will play several games on the various maps of Ticket to Ride – the best of them will then be declared Ticket to Ride World Champion and win a trip for two on the legendary Orient-Express! Ticket to Ride World Championship

This is it! The 8 finalists who will compete in the first ever Ticket to Ride World Championship have now been determined. Soon they will all be on their way to Paris.

On Saturday June 19th, the le Musée de la Carte à Jouer (Card Game Museum) at Issy-les-Moulineaux, will host the inaugural Ticket to Ride World Championship. The 8 national champions will fiercely compete on the various Ticket to Ride maps to claim the title and win the grand prize – a fabulous journey on the Orient Express.

The 8 players are:

- Eric Miller, who won the North American championship on April the 10th in Columbus, OH

- Jay Fox, the North American runner-up

- Krystian Romanowski, Polish champion on April the 17th in Gdansk

- Rémi Bec, French champion on April the 25th in Toulouse

- Pere Garriga Solé, Spanish champion on May the 15th in Madrid

- Jürgen Grauer, German champion on May the 15th in Herne

- Patrick Deckers, Benelux champion on May the 29th in Bruxelles

- Ian Andrew Vincent, UK champion on June the 5th in Birmingham

Congratulation to all of the finalists for getting this far. We’re sure they are in the midst of intensive training to prepare themselves for the Ticket to Ride Championship.

As they will all want your support on the day of the championship, we will soon announce a surprise that will allow you to follow your favorites during the event!

Ticket to Ride North American Championship winners

Ticket to Ride World Championship

The Ticket to Ride North American Championship was held this past weekend at Alan Moon’s annual Gathering of Friends event in Columbus Ohio. 16 players who qualified in previous events in both the US and Canada were there to battle for the championship and a chance to win the trip to Paris to compete in the World Championship in June.
