Quadropolis: for a little dash of prestige in your city, just add a Monument!

QuadropolisFrom the ancient pyramids of Gizah to the modern Opera House of Sydney, people from all around the world have always built monuments to commemorate, celebrate or host special events.

That’s the case in Quadropolis as well…

Monuments of the World

In Quadropolis, Monuments are rare buildings that allow you to score victory points when placed next to parks, shops, or public services. Be careful though, because placing them next to harbors or factories would only bring you negative points! They are only used in the Expert Mode, along with Office Towers.

Special Monuments may be used instead of the standard ones. Head to the Monuments page of the website to learn more about them and how you will be able to get them

Monuments of the US

Winner of the International Game Designers Contest of Boulogne Billancourt, Quadropolis is for 2 to 4 players ages 8 and older and takes approximately 30-60 minutes to play.

It includes 142 Building Tiles, 1 Construction Site Board, 4 Player Mats & 4 Helpers, 20 Architects, 65 Inhabitants (blue meeples) & 50 Energy Units (red barrels), 1 Urbanist & 1 Mayor Figure, 1 Scoring Pad, 1 Cloth Bag and 1 Rules Booklet.

Quadropolis is expected to be available in Europe early March and in the US early April at an expected retail price of $50/€45.

Hi there — I’d like to receive more information about the special release program for promo tiles for Quadropolis — will these be available through online stores or just local game stores?

I would also like to know how to get the Orient Express cards for Ticket to Ride Europe — the website said they’d be available through the webstore before the end of the year but then you took down the webstore website. Please advise.

    Thanks much. Peace. Andy

      Hello Andy

Regarding the Monuments of Quadropolis, the way they will become available will greatly vary from one to the other as each of our Distribution partner will get the Monument related to their country and will distribute them the way they see fit… I’m afraid we cannot be more specific than what is written on the website so far…
Just to be crystal clear, note that the various monuments only offer cosmetic changes, they will play out the exact same way as the regular ones that are included in the game box. No risk of missing out on one of them 😉

Regarding the Orient-Express mini expansion, as you might (or might not) know, there are changes going on in the way that Days of Wonder, now a part of the Asmodee group, will deal with customer service and/or the goodies in the future.

We are currently organizing this in the various regions of the world with our partners/distributors, but this (unfortunately) takes time.

As soon as we have a global solution, we will communicate about it here on our blog.

      Thanks for your patience…

I might have to see when released but how can certain monuments when placed in a harbor give negative points? As the Sydney Opera House is located in Sydney Harbor so to me it would make sense to build it in the harbor and the Golden Gate Bridge goes over San Francisco Bay.

      Hi Peter,

As stated in a comment above, Special Monuments follow the exact same rules as the regular ones. It’s a purely cosmetic change, eye candy if you will…

So even if the real life Sydney Opera House is in a harbor, the Quadropolis one will still cost you points if you do so and yes, you can also have the Taj Mahal and the Statue of Liberty in the same city 😉

This sounds awesome! I’ll definitely write a review of it once it’s available and I can get a copy.
