After an epic day of competition, Kenneth (USA) is crowned 2014 World Champion !
The previously announced champion, Erwin Pauelsen, has resigned his title after the discovery of evidence of cheating during the final matches.

Kenneth conquered his title after a year long marathon of tournaments which gathered more than 25,000 players all over the world and led the 28 National Champions in Issy-les-Moulineaux near Paris, France for the final stage of the Ticket to Ride World Championship tournament.
After seven more rounds on various Ticket to Ride maps, the final ranking is as follows:
- 2014 Ticket to Ride Champion: Kenneth Heilfron (USA)
- 2nd Place: Michel Hautecœur (Belgium)
- 3rd Place: Piotr Hrachun (Russia)

Kenneth (pictured above) wins the title and the Grand Prize: an unforgettable trip for two to Asia on the Eastern & Oriental Express! Congrats!
We also would like to thank everyone who allowed this championship to occur, especially the hundreds of volunteers who helped run Ticket to Ride events worldwide! It’s refreshing to see that the board game world, specifically the Ticket to Ride community, is still mostly filled with friendly and fair competitors.
You can find more details on the unfortunate event that shadowed this otherwise great championship in the Press Release on our website.

Congratulations to Kenneth! SoCal and Strategicon gamers all across the west salute you!
Kenneth you blow, You don’t deserve the price and
Is this the way you win you’re games through complaining!
You should play the final over to see who the real winner is.
you are a real loser.
This reply sounds really pathetic.
Troll.
You are the kind of gamer no one needs around. Crawl back under the rock you come from.
Why in the world would Kenneth be the loser…he’s not the one who cheated!! This kind of post makes me wonder what happened to Johny to make him think this is ok.
First of all, Johny…the word is PRIZE not price…second, if you read any of the posts/threads on any of the gaming sites, you would understand that Kenneth was NOT complaining. He was stating his opinion and trying to figure out what happened. Also, MANY other gamers, who were at the competition or watching the live feed, had the same comments, questions and/or concerns.
Third…if someone awards the title of winner, how is that the contestants fault?
I think you, Johny are the loser. Stop being bitter and grow up!
Dude, what on earth? The actual winner cheated and yet you’re giving Ken a hard time? Had the other guy not been cheating, Ken would have won fair and square.
I’m glad that justice came through.
Congrats!!! to Kenneth! You earned it!
Cheating? How does a player cheat at TtR? In a championship situation? What was the violation that was missed by the other players at the table? I only ask because I missed the broadcast.
Congrats Kenneth. GO USA!!! At least someone from our own strategicon group won, proud of ya. You will have to give me some pointers at the next convention.
I recall losing to Ken several times. Not surprising to me, congratulations.
