The Battle is joined – debut of M44 Campaign Book Vol. 2

Memoir ’44 Campaign Book Volume 2 is now available in game stores throughout North America and is expected to be in game stores throughout Europe the week before Christmas.

This second hardcover supplement for the Memoir ’44 game system includes 5 distinct theaters of operation:

  • Island Hoppers, a Grand Campaign covering the re-conquest of the Pacific by the Allied forces;
  • Bicycle Blitzkrieg, the lesser studied Japanese invasion of Malaya in 1941-42;
  • Break through Normandy, a new challenge in the grand scale of the Memoir ’44 Breakthrough format;
  • Fall of Poland, depicting the desperate resistance of Polish forces against the Germans in September 1939;
  • Air Aces, which follows the exploits of famous air aces throughout World War II.

Memoir ’44 Campaign Book Volume 2 includes a 128-page hardbound book with Advanced Campaign Rules, 11 different campaigns and 46 new scenarios, plus a punchboard with 50 new game tokens. This expansion requires the original Memoir ’44 board game and additional, theater-specific expansions for each of the campaigns presented.

In addition to game stores in North America, the Memoir ’44 Campaign Book Volume 2 is now shipping from the Days of Wonder US Web Store. Those who pre-ordered (in North America only) will also receive the Invasion of Crete bonus Tournament Scenarios.

In Europe pre-orders from the Days of Wonder Euro webstore are expected to ship around December 20 and Memoir’44 Campaign Book Volume 2 should be available in retail stores the same week.

    Why only North America?!
    That’s not a nice way to treat your European customers, who pre-ordered this fine book also.

    • Jesse says:

      The Crete Campaign was created for a US tournament/convention and DoW had some extra copies which they are giving away in North American pre-orders. It wouldn’t make sense for them to ship the booklets to Europe and send them from there as well…but they will make the Campaign available Online in a bit, so you won’t miss out all together!

    What’s annoying me is that the original blog post announcing the book didn’t mention the bonus scenarios. Had it been mentioned, I would have pre-ordered. Instead, in an attempt to support my local game store I ended up missing out on the bonus materials.

    Oh well…

    • Jesse says:

      The Crete Campaign will be available online as a PDF pretty soon, so nobody has to miss out completely.

  4. David says:

    Is it too late to order and get the Crete scenarios?

    I’m with David.

    Is it too late?

  6. Jesse says:

    My understanding was that DoW will continue to include the Create Campaign as long as they have stock, so if you order something right away you may get a copy! But you might want to hurry because I don’t think they have very many.

    As Jesse pointed out we had printed some extra Invasion of Crete scenarios when we created them for the summer tournaments in the US – there never were any printed in Europe as we didn’t have any tournaments there that used them.

    We have given stores who carry the Campaign Book Vol. 2 the opportunity to get some free scenarios to hand out to customers. If they don’t have any, ask them to contact their Days of Wonder distributor to get some for you. I think our distributor still has some.

    Unfortunately at DOW we have run out of the scenarios, which is why we can’t include them in any further orders. However you should be able to download the PDF in the Memoir ’44 Rules & Goodies section of the website within a day or two, so everyone can have access to them that way.

    Will there be a way to download a pdf of the campaign score sheets so that we can print them ourselves?
