Ticket to Ride for iPad is available now on the AppStore.
I’m not sure if I am more excited about the iPad I just ordered or the fact that I can play Ticket to Ride and Small World on it! Congrats DOW.
Memoir ’44 for iPad next please! 🙂
Great news!! downloading this NOW 🙂
Awesome news! Please make this available for iPhone/iPod touch users as well. Thanks.
I really hope you guys eventually port some games over to android… I would love to be able to get my DOW fix on my phone or tablet, but I already have android devices.
I second the request for an Android port of this and other DOW games…
Wow! Such a pleasant surprise! Thank you so much, DoW!
Looks like local games are only one person + bots. Please find a way to allow multiple people to play using the same iPad. This would be easier to take on trips than the board game!
This game is awesome on the iPad. Thanks
No local two-player? That’s the whole reason I want this game… If you commit to it in an update I’m buying it sight unseen!
Same here! That would be amazing.
I bought it assuming there would be local pass&play, as with Small World.
I was very disappointed to find it not available and hope they correct the absence in a future update.
A superb quality app. This is the happiest day of my iPad life! I can’t stop playing it.
Well done DOW. Great work.
Very exciting to see this arriving on iPad! I really hope lots of people buy it so that DOW can continue to release more games!
This needs to be iOS universal! They would make a lot more money…
I need to be able to play this on my iPhone. If I can play Carcassone comfortably there isn’t any reason I shouldn’t be able to play this with the right design…
My daughter and I just downloaded it and played 4 games. You’ve outdone yourselves! Thank you for the great app.
Third for Android.
Board games and geeks go together like… well like Android and geeks.
Great game! I want to download the expansions with the in app purchases but when i press buy, nothing happens…
Does anyone else experience the same?
Is it possible to also start a game with two human players? Or can same tell me where to find the option to change that.
But its a very nice game and a must have app for the ipad!
Wow what a suprise. It plays very well. Thank you al lot.
Now Memior44 and my live would be complete :))))
That’s Great!
However, we issues on my mind:
1. We want ability to have local link game, as Fred said.
It’s a big plus during travel with friends carrying iPad, but no network connection!
[We have carcassonne and it did the job exactly, even on iPhone!!!]
2. As TTR for iPad is actually linked to PC/Mac game, are we double paying here? We have account already, purchse TTR and various map. And now we need to pay AGAIN, for iPad access only?
Maybe I’m just confused. Anyone can help clarify?
I expected 2 player play on same iPad as with Small World. Please say if this is planned.
Android…. make it happen DOW.
The in-app purchases for the expansions doesnt work. When i press the buy button, nothng happens…
Can someone help?
We didn’t have any trouble. Bought all the expansions. The only thing we’ve never been able to figure out is how to turn the train stations in the European version. Do you know how to do that?
We got a new iPad and to get the in game purchases to work (they didn’t work at first), I went to the AppStore icon on the iPad. It prompted me to download a free book reader app. That led to prompting me to confirm my credit card info. That is required for a new device before you can buy things from the store. Once I did that and the book reader app downloaded, I was able to get back into Ticket To Ride and buy the maps.
Hey..I just love this app!!! But don’t know how to create a game just for two players..it automatically creates a game for five..?!?
Thanks.
Gren
Looks beautiful but how do I make it stop talking? The volume control doesn’t work. The talking when you load it up is SO annoying.
Might buy it if it was made available on Android and/or it had a pass-and-play feature so two or more players could play the game off the same device. To play this on an IPad, which for me is suitable only as a coffee table game device, I need the pass and play feature.
Besides, I still like to play my board games face-to-face. Small World is good for that on the IPad (and helps justify the existence of my IPad). Granted Small World is better suited for pass-and-play, but this should be a fairly straight-forward feature in TTR.
We love the new Ipad availability for TTR. My brother is mostly wheelchair bound and being able to use the Ipad is fantastic! We do have 2 questions:
1) Is there a way to bring in the dummies from the Ipad version?
2) How does the train station setup work for the European game? We have not been able to figure out a way to turn the station for the route we want (Ipad and Online version).
Thank you for a great game!
Sincerely~
Sue
Another request for an Android port, please! I’d love to play this on an Android tablet!
I have some feedback, for the app, is there a good place to put it? Otherwise, I’m going to put it here.
* First, I’m so happy to see this game on the iPad. I love Ticket to Ride and I foresee a lot of play in my future. But, after playing it for half an hour I want to kill Gerry and all the other voices.
* Please provide a way to turn off the talking. I don’t need the all the voices going off every time I enter an option area. It’s nice the very first time I enter the app, but it wears out its welcome quickly. I would rather have a faster interface than one that tries so hard to be in character.
* When the game ends and a winner is declared, I couldn’t find a way to review the board. I could only go back to Gerry to start a new game. The route tally goes by so quickly, I can’t always tell if that missed ticket was mine or one of the other players. I would very much like to be able to examine the board and click on all the players’ tickets when the game is over, it’s part of the fun of the post-game discussion.
* In the station, instead of having Gerry talk about the destinations, they should be labeled, or if I tap-and-hold, there should be some info so I can make an informed choice, similar to how choosing tickets when playing works. I have the app open right now for this comment, and Gerry is looping in his description of the station options. It is becoming really annoying, re my first point.
* There is no way to access any of the settings while a game is in progress. It would be nice to be able to access the sound/volume controls, and turn on/off voices, or whatever while a particular game is in progress.
* I want to third the option to play local 2-player. Both a pass-the-iPad style, and two iPads connect via wifi locally, would be awesome.
In general, I feel like the cuteness gets in the way of actually playing. It’s too much of a muchness. It looks great, but many of the animations and sounds are for atmosphere and I feel they interfere with actually playing the game.
Solid app. Better interface than the online version imo. But lots of time wasted loading the app and listening to to voices prattle on. GREAT touch for the intro, but just painful game two and on.
Terrific job, DOW. Thanks for another great option!
Please make it so that we can play two or three or more players on iPad. A great way to take a great game on the road or to the cottage. Have it so you tap end of turn and the next person has to tap start turn on the opposite side of the board to prevent cheating and double tapping by mistakes.
Thanks it is still a great product.
Game seems great so far except I have no sound or music at all! I’m getting sound in all my other iPad apps except this one, even though the sound options are cranked to the top…any ideas?
I was amazed to see that the next DOW game was released on the iPad. Please don’t hesitate – you’re on the right way.
Please supply us with a 2-4 player hotseat Version of TtR and hopefully a version of Memoir ’44.
Thanx
This is a beautiful, absolutely addicting app! I love it!!!
Please make this for iPhone 4. I’d be very happy and would buy right away!
Anyone else having a problem with the solo game freezing mid-turn. The AI has been taking it’s turn forever. I also second the request for pass and play, and wifi multiple player.
One last thing. Several times I have gone to take a route planning to use a locomotive and two colored cards, but the game automatically takes two locomotives, leaving me a color card. Any ideas?
The last problem you’re having (where the game uses two locos) is a known bug that will be fixed in a future version…maybe the next update.
That was close! Almost bought it, assuming it must have pass-and-play, to happen to read here that it doesn’t. Will hold-off to see if it gets it in an update.
Please make an Android version.
Great news just bought it! and its wonderful like Small world…
Please go for Memoir ’44 next it would be a huge success!
😉
Im sure
First off— beautiful game. I had heard of this board game when a fellow grad student did a paper about winning this game using graph theory. Didn’t feel good about coughing up the $60 for a boxed set, but I got the email about the iPad app last night.
I bought the game at 10PM. Next time I looked at the clock I realized it was 3AM. So my being late for work, and tired today is your fault. Also, I’m going out to buy two copies of the board game after work tonight (One for me and one for a gift). Amazing board game, and fantastic iPad port of it.
I can tell developers are reading this, so I’ll offer my two cents:
– Echo the sentiments about 2-player local network or pass and play feature.
– Any chance we could improve the AI and offer harder difficulties? I don’t always have a wifi connection available.
– Could you make it possible to log in to both the game center account and the DOW account? It would be nice to be able to browse games for both networks.
– Would it be possible to have a feature so we can play the single player game while waiting for a multiplayer game? I would love to be able to specify the type of game I am looking for, and then player single player until a match is found, when it would save the single player game where it was, and switch me over to the multiplayer one. I think this would vastly increase the number of people in the multiplayer game lobby.
Overall great game. I usually am hesitant about paying this much for an iPad app, but this game was totally worth it. I bought all the in-app purchases as well. Love it!!!
Please make this available for iphone 4!
I played this game on my friend’s Ipad and it was awesome. Please make it for Android so I can own it on my tablet!
Love it.. but should had pass-n’-play too…
Hi, I have another comment/request.
In the Switzerland expansion, there are tickets with multiple ways to fill a route. During scoring, the game uses the first route that fills the ticket, even if later on I managed to fulfill that ticket a better way. That can be a huge difference. Could you update the Switzerland expansion so that it maximizes the points scored instead? Thanks.
